FAQ

What is a Transaction?

We estimate your monthly fee based on transaction volume. We count transactions by running a Transaction List report for a monthly period. For example, a suppliers invoice to you which you need to pay would be reflected as 2 transactions: 1 for the entering of the bill, and 1 for producing a corresponding cheque / payment.


What if I don't need my accounting file hosted?

We work with a number of hosted and cloud-based accounting applications. The above is just a template that most businesses use. You may wish to retain certain functions and/or include additional tasks as necessary.


Are there custom packages available?

Absolutely, we can work with you to design a package and workflow that meets your requirements. The above is just a template that most businesses use. My business activity fluctuates greatly. Are there hourly rates available?

Yes. We can do hourly engagements as well. Please contact us us for more information.


Behind on your paperwork or your taxes?

Don’t worry. Most of our clients come to us with at least a few months, and sometimes several years, of “catch-up” work to be done. We understand that getting caught up can be a burden, so don’t put it off. Just take everything you have, put it in a box, and bring it in. We’ll sort things out and communicate with the CRA on your behalf. We also offer discounts on our regular rate for each month of catch-up work to be done, and we’ll prorate the fees to make things more manageable for you. You’ll be up to date in no time.


How does payroll service work?

You will provide us with employee information and timesheets at least 3 business days prior to your payday. We will send you back a payroll summary report and paystubs as quickly as possible upon receiving your payroll information. If included in your package, we will deliver printed paycheques to you. If desired, you may sign up for QuickBooks Online Direct Deposit or Telpay Direct Deposit service for an additional fee, contact us for details. We will also provide you with the information required and/or assistance with filing and paying your payroll remittances and WSIB.


Are there any additional fees or charges?

There may be some additional software fees. Some fees will be payable directly to the vendor, such as Telpay fees. QuickBooks Online can be purchased through us at the discounted rate of $20 per month plus payroll fees. We don't charge for occasional postage or disbursements, office supplies, etc. but if you would like us to regularly send mail on your behalf we will bill you for postage. You must also pay for your own printer cheques, if required.


What is LedgerDocs?

LedgerDocs is our in-house document management application that allows for our clients to easily share their accounting documents with their bookkeeper. Simply upload your files using a smartphone, scanner, or email and leave the rest to us!
